The Ministry
has prepared a spreadsheet for each school board, showing the
nearest school for each of the board's open schools, based on
information from the ministry's School Facilities Information
System (SFIS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) database.
School boards are required to return the spreadsheet to the
Ministry, requesting any proposed corrections to grade ranges,
distances, and the identification of nearest schools, by October
17, 2003. Spreadsheets are to be returned to your board's Ministry
finance officer.
